Mount St Patrick College, Murwillumbah, hosted a Creative and Performing Arts Showcase, providing an opportunity for students to show their creativity and performing skills.

Mount St Patrick College, Murwillumbah, was a hub of excitement in early June, hosting the Creative and Performing Arts Showcase at the schools’ Gilbey Centre. The College showcased its students’ creative and performing skills with an art exhibition, musical and dramatic performances.

Families, students, staff, parishioners and local community members arrived to support the students in their endeavours. Year 11 and 12 Entertainment students provided backstage and onstage support.

Both evenings began with Mount St Patrick’s own indigenous dancers giving a moving Welcome to Country. This was followed by a Drama performance from the Year 9, Preliminary and HSC Drama classes. Students showcased their musical talents throughout both evenings with a vocal, instrumental, rock band and choral pieces that took centre stage. This was complemented by the exemplary work of the Year 7 to HSC art students which were on display during the evenings.

'Nights like this cannot go ahead without the hard work and dedication of the teaching staff – an incredible amount of time preparing and rehearsing, setting up and taking down exhibits,' said Leader of Learning, Creative Arts, Clara Cahill.

Congratulations to all the students who showcased their talents, from performing on stage to the backstage support of coordinating the sound and lighting. Mount St Patrick College is proud to host an event where students' creative endeavours are supported and celebrated.
