Our Strategic Directions reflect the aspirations we hold for our students, their families and our staff. They underline our commitment to creating learning environments that engage and challenge our students, equipping them with the skills and foundational knowledge they need for success in life. Founded in our Mission, they will guide our decision-making and support our role as stewards of our school system, operating sustainably and with clear direction and purpose.

Our Strategic Direction

Over the next three years, the Diocese of Lismore Catholic Schools will strive to ensure students experience the fullness of life. To do this, we will focus on four areas of school and community life.

Focus Areas

Enlivened catholic identity Enlivened Catholic Identity

Embed the Mission of Jesus Christ at the core of our identity, shaping our worldview, foundational values, relationships, and behaviours.

  • All Schools are distinctly Catholic in identity.
  • Commitment to the formation of all staff to support our Catholic educational culture.
  • Support teachers to deliver best practice religious education and meet the needs of all students.
Thriving learners Thriving Learners

Ensure all students are supported, nurtured and challenged to become thriving individuals, capable learners, productive citizens and future leaders for the world through our commitment to pastoral care and excellence in learning and teaching.

  • Lift student engagement and wellbeing through learning environments that meet all students in their learning journey.
  • Focus on foundational skills in reading, writing and numeracy so all students can engage with their learning experience.
  • Broaden our educational pathways to meet the interests and aspirations of all students.
Engaged communities Engaged Communities

Foster inclusion and belonging through connection, partnership and advocacy with students, families, parishes and the wider community.

  • Develop partnerships to ensure that trained and formed new teachers are available for our Catholic schools.
  • Enhance the pathway between early years learning and the transition to our Catholic primary schools.
  • Explore and support post-school pathways for our students, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
  • Connect school communities to services beyond the school gate in areas of high need.
Sustainable futures Sustainable Futures

Steward a sustainable and future focused Catholic Schools System that delivers equity and excellence for all in delivery of its core educational mission.

  • Operations are sustainable and supported by investment in sound processes and quality systems.
  • Classrooms and school environments are modern, welcoming and environmentally sustainable.
  • An employer of choice that supports and develops its staff and emerging leaders.
