St Finbarr’s Primary School, Byron Bay, showcased their musical talents in front of an audience with parents in attendance.

An entertaining lunch of music and fun was held at St Finbarr’s Primary School, Byron Bay, with a 'Battle of the Bands' showcase, offering students an opportunity to perform in front of a live audience of staff, students and parents.

'It has really inspired other children to get involved in music,' said Principal Tim Bleakly.

The outdoor event’s purpose was to promote a love of music and build within each student the confidence to perform in front of a live audience.

'Our region is a vibrant artistic community, and they love their music,' said organiser and Music teacher Kris Burnand.

The students performed on the recently built outdoor stage that has been a big hit with St Finbarr’s students. Parents were invited to join the audience in the relaxed outdoor setting.

St Finbarr’s is looking forward to hosting more lunchtime concerts during the year.
