Congratulations to St Joseph’s Regional College, Port Macquarie, student Lorena Dionigi for her self-portrait art assessment, named as one of sixty finalists for the University of New England School Acquisition Art Prize (UNESAP).

Visual Arts teacher, Toni Howard, is proud of Lorena’s achievement, 'Lorena is an exceptional art student. She is competent in many expressive forms, including watercolour, the media used in this self-portrait. She is very motivated and is always learning new techniques and methods in creating artworks. We are super excited that she has been selected as a finalist.'

Lorena’s self-portrait was chosen from over four hundred and seventy entries, which will be displayed in the New England Regional Art Museum (NERAM) in Armidale as part of an exhibition titled 'Let’s Hang It!'. First and second place prizes will be judged by sculptor Ben Tooth with Director of NERAM, Rachael Parsons, also presenting a Director's Choice Award. The People’s Choice Award will be voted on throughout the exhibition via the online exhibition page, and the winner announced at the conclusion of the exhibition.

'I'm very excited to have been selected in the 60 finalists of the UNESAP and extremely thrilled that my work will be exhibited in the Let's Hang It! Exhibition,' said Lorena.

The opening of Let’s Hang It! Exhibition will be open from Friday 30 July 2021 to Sunday 15 August 2021.
