Congratulations to St John’s College, Lismore Year 12 student Olivia Mosse for winning the Brock Rowe Senior Geography Fieldwork Competition against a field of strong entries.
The competition invited senior students from across NSW and ACT to help foster enthusiasm for Geography and required students to investigate a topic of their choosing and incorporate geographic inquiry.
Matthew Bailey, Leader of Curriculum at St John’s College, is proud of Olivia’s achievement, 'She is a dedicated student who seeks out success in all aspects of her academic life. Olivia worked extremely hard on her Senior Geography Project, and I am happy that the award acknowledges and celebrates her diligence and commitment to study.'
Reflecting on Olivia’s achievements Principal, Aaron Beach said that, 'Olivia is an outstanding student who works assiduously on anything she undertakes, and this award is a testament to her diligence. Olivia is a great role model for all Woodlawn students, and the entire College community are proud of her and offer our collective congratulations on this wonderful achievement.'
Olivia offered advice for senior geography students, 'organisation is key. If you plan ahead for primary data collection, such as conducting interviews, you will avoid any last-minute rush. Finally, teachers are there to help, so if you have any questions, just ask!'
