Specialist Area Scholarships

The Catholic Schools Office (CSO) recognises that learning is a lifelong process and therefore aims to both attract quality teachers into the teaching profession as well as support their ongoing professional development. Via the following programs, the CSO provides support to existing staff to expand their qualifications and experience. These programs will both support individuals in developing skills and knowledge, as well as support schools and colleges to ensure they are able to attract and retain the highest quality teachers.

 

 

Information Technology Post Graduate Study Support

Information Technology Post Graduate Study Support

The Catholic Schools Office, via this arrangement, will support teachers and staff in a unique opportunity to study for a Masters of Information Technology (16 units) or its nested programs of Graduate Certificate in Information Technology (4 units) and Graduate Diploma in Information Technology (8 units). Available to teachers/staff employed by Diocese of Lismore Catholic Schools Limited (DLCSL) in a permanent or temporary full-time capacity (part time >0.8FTE also considered).

Successful applicants will receive 100% reimbursement of course fees on successful completion of each unit.

The DLCSL will be annually offering twenty [20] fee-free Diocese of Lismore Catholic Schools Scholarships. Staff who wish to participate in the Scholarship Program will be required by DLCSL to enrol with WIN and DLCSL will reimburse the teacher/staff for the enrolment fees which the teacher/staff has paid to WIN upon the successful completion of each subject by the teacher/staff.

Mathematics Education Post Graduate Study Support

This scholarship is designed to support current teachers to gain a qualification in Mathematics (Graduate Certificate) or qualification in Mathematics as a second teaching area (Graduate Diploma). Available to teachers employed by DLCSL in a permanent or temporary full-time capacity (part time >0.8FTE also considered).

Successful applicants will receive 50% reimbursement of course fees on successful completion of each unit.

Preference will be given to students willing to study with the University of Notre Dame. For course information see: Grad Cert link or Grad Dip link. Applicants who complete the Graduate Certificate and wish to go onto the Diploma qualification will need to reapply, however these applications will be given preferential consideration.

National Industry Qualification Study Support

National Industry Qualification Study Support

Open to DLCSL employees with national industry qualification & Certificate IV Training & Assessment (TAE) undertaking a Bachelor of Education through an approved tertiary education institution. Includes reimbursement of study fees and continued salary during teacher practicum placement periods.

Via this arrangement, the CSO will provide support to select staff completing their teaching degree with a view to enable them to fully partake as teachers in the Diocese.

Support includes:

  • Reimbursement of course fees on successful completion of units
  • Continuing salary during teacher practical placements
  • Ongoing support and advice

Studies in Religious Education and/or Theology

Each year, study support is offered to permanent full time staff to complete a Graduate Certificate in Religious Education and/or Theology through ACU. The support offered includes 50% reimbursement of units fees upon successful completion and one study day per unit to assist with the coursework. Applications are sought in Term 3 of each year, for commencement of study in the following year.
