Tyla Dal Broi

Title: Entertainment Unit
Statement: This Entertainment Unit combines functionality with striking visual appeal. Crafted from American White Oak, it features dovetail joints for the drawers and a unique curved inlay that gracefully flows from the top down the sides.

James Ferguson

Title: Entertainment Unit
Statement: This modern TV / entertainment unit features cabinet doors, a drawer and open storage space. Crafted from American White Oak for the carcass and brush box for the frame, it boasts durable construction with dovetail joints for the drawer, mitred joints for the cabinet doors, mortise and tenon joints for the frame, and housing joints for the dividers.

Title: Study Desk
Statement: This modern study desk is crafted from premium hardwoods, featuring a Sydney Blue Gum tabletop border, Tasmanian Blackwood drawer fronts, and Blackbutt for the remaining components. Designed with a variety of joinery techniques, it’s built to support studies well beyond high school.

Title: Grandfather Clock
Statement: This grandfather clock is crafted from Australian Red Cedar and features decorative moldings, lathe-turned elements, and sophisticated joinery, resulting in a truly timeless piece.

Tehya Nash

Title: Study Desk
Statement: My study desk is a highly functional piece of furniture designed for both study and storage. It is primarily crafted from Tasmanian Oak and Blackbutt, featuring dovetail joints in all four drawers and mitred joints in the drawer cabinet.

Andrew Yates

Title: Curved Front Writing Desk
Statement: This writing desk was manufactured from a combination of Blue Gum and Blackbutt. It features four tapered legs that curve in two different directions and the drawer fronts and tabletop both feature significant curves on the front side of the desk. It has three drawers, of which, the centre drawer is smaller to allow for more leg room whilst sitting at the desk. Other features include a mitred Blue Gum frame which forms a border around the Blackbutt table top and a fine Blue Gum inlay to assist with aesthetics.

Title: Red Cedar Media Cabinet
Statement: This Red Cedar media cabinet is a deeply personal piece, crafted from timber sourced from the family farm in Jackadgery, embodying the essence of heritage and woodworking artistry. The Silky Oak inlay that highlights the edge of the top adds intricate contrast to the dark tones of the Red Cedar, while the shaped legs and dovetail drawers showcase meticulous craftsmanship. Every detail reflects a connection personally, making this cabinet both a functional piece and a tribute to family, land and tradition.

Title: Wine and Liquor Cabinet
Statement: This Japanese-inspired liquor cabinet features a stunning figured Red Gum slab top, complemented by elegantly tapered legs, combining traditional aesthetics with functional design. The cabinet’s carcass is crafted from a blend of Sally Wattle, Crab Apple and Spotted Gum, creating a rich visual contrast while showcasing the unique qualities of each timber. With integrated wine racks and storage for wine glasses, this piece marries the beauty of natural materials with the practicality of modern furniture.

Title: Sunbed
Statement: This Timber Sunbed is crafted from Blackbutt, a durable and sustainably sourced Australian hardwood known for its strength and resistance to the elements. Designed with outdoor use in mind, it offers both comfort and practicality. The clear exterior oil finish not only protects the wood but also enhances the natural grain and rich tones of the timber, allowing its natural beauty to shine through. With its sturdy construction, this sunbed is built to withstand outdoor conditions while providing a comfortable and relaxing space for lounging. Its simple yet stylish design makes it a versatile addition to any outdoor area, offering a blend of functionality and aesthetic appeal that complements the natural environment.

Title: Lounge Chair
Statement: This three-seater lounge, crafted from rich, dark Spotted Gum, is a harmonious blend of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design. The laminated turned front legs and shaped back legs add a touch of elegance, while the use of modern joinery methods ensures both durability and style. The deep tones of the Spotted Gum perfectly complement the fabric chosen for the cushions, creating a cozy and inviting space. This lounge promises countless hours of relaxation, reading and comfort on a beautifully designed piece of furniture.

Title: Record Cabinet
Statement: This piece is a vintage appropriation of a 70s record cabinet built from iconic Australian Red Cedar timber. Hints of silky oak are employed as detailing. A variety of techniques including curved doors, turned legs, hinge work and edge profiling has been used.
